Meghalaya: Woman killed by wild elephants in Garo Hills

In an unfortunate incident, one woman was killed by wild elephants while she was collecting cashew nut seeds at Bidukura village in South West Garo Hills.
According to the police, the incident happened on June 7 at around 8 am when the woman identified as irina Marak was trampled to death by wild elephants while she off collecting cashew nut seeds in a nearby jungle, which is often frequented by elephants.
Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver was handed over to her relatives.
