Meghalaya: Sherwood School, Tura shines in SSLC exams 2018

Sherwood School, Tura beat all the other top schools in Shillong to claim the first top four positions in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams 2018, the results which was declared by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) here on Friday.

All in all, this school, which is located in Tura, West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, bagged a total of 6 positions in the top 20 list of the SSLC exams.

Bagging the first position is Anurag Tiwari from Sherwood School who secured a total marks of 581 followed by his classmates — Trisha Seal Sharma, Yash Khandelwal, Pratyush Patra, Siddhi Agarwala and Gun Gassel R Marak, who managed to secure the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th and 18th position respectively.

Sherwood School is not the only school from Tura which managed to grab a comfortable spot in the top 20 list. St Xavier's Secondary School, Tura and Aeroville Secondary School, Tura are the two other schools which secured a place in the list.

Interestingly, private students are also not far behind in this race. A total of 5 private students managed to secure a position in the top 20 list. They are — Al amin Miah (11th), Shahidul Islam Mondal (12th), Bikash Barman (13th), Ellora Rabha (15th) and Synrangskhem Nongbsap (17th).

Other less-known schools which made it to the top 20 list include — Mahendraganj HS School in South West Garo Hills, Joel Gatphoh Memorial Synod Secondary School in Nongstoin, Little flower school in Shillong, Mawprem Modern HS School in Shillong, Ka Syiem Jingsuk Secondary School in Amlarem, Pomlum HS School in Shillong, Bhaitbari HS School in West Garo Hills and Stella Maris Secondary School in Wahlang under Mawphlang block.
