Meghalaya: Police yet to arrest St George School’s principal accused of assaulting students

Two days after an FIR was filed against the Principal of St George Higher Secondary School in Nongmynsong, Shillong for assault and molestation, the police are yet to arrest the accused person.
In the FIR filed by two activists — Napoleon Wanphniang and Agnes Kharshiing, it was alleged that the Principal of this school, Simon Joseph used to beat, stalk, blackmail and outrage the modesty of his students.
"We are yet to arrest the principal since he was cooperating with the police in the investigation," East Khasi Hills SP Davis R Marak told newsmen here today.
According to the police, the various sections which the principal has been booked all fall below seven years of imprisonment.
The SP had stated that the police had immediately registered a case after the FIR was filed against him. "We have also issued notices against the principal," the SP informed.
