Meghalaya MLA courts trouble; alleged of asking peon to wipe wet shoe

Meghalaya MLA, Jason Mawlong Sawkmie courted controversy after a post/statement regarding his alleged 'high-handedness and bossy' attitude went viral in social media on Friday.

According to the circulated post, the Umsning MLA and PDF legislator had allegedly asked his peon to wipe his wet shoe, about three/four days back in the office.

Sources informed that both the parties have come to a compromise after the MLA apologised.

Sources further informed that the issue was raked up again after Grade 4th Employees Association decided to take up the matter. "The issue cannot be taken lightly as similar incident can happen to other Grade IV employees," said the source.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Umsning legislator, Jason Mawlong Sawkmie clarified "It was nothing like that. It was a total misunderstanding and the matter had been sorted out long time back."

"We are at peace now and are working together. There is nothing serious about this matter and it has already been resolved," he added.
