Meghalaya: Husband assaults wife to death in Madanrting

In a disturbing case of domestic violence, a woman in Shillong reportedly died from injuries following an assault on her by her husband.
A complaint was lodged by the victim's sister, Ngurthankimi Sailo on June 27 saying that J. Ngurdawla had assaulted his wife Ngurmunmawii at their residence at Madanrting Block-D.
The victim reportedly sustained injuries and lost consciousness. She was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
