Meghalaya | GSU demands immediate halt in setting of hospital

SHILLONG/TURA | September 27, 2018:

The Garo Student Union (GSU) on Wednesday has expressed apprehension regarding the setting up of Maternity and Child Hospital in Mahendraganj citing 'unfavorable location' and 'transportation problem' as the main reasons.

In a letter submitted to the South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner on 26 sept, the GSU has stated that the location for the hospital is far from the district medical and health office headquarters and is located in the extreme international border, far from the district headquarters of SWGH.

They have demanded an immediate halt in setting up of the hospital in Mahendraganj and have asked the authorities to set up the hospital in Ampati as it is easily accessible to the general public.
