Meghalaya: Falling tree branch in Tura injures one, destroys shop

An old tree, from within the premises of the Tura Civil Hospital, fell after it broke off from the trunk, hitting one person and injuring him. Another shop was also destroyed in this incident which happened today afternoon in the district headquarters of West Garo Hills.

The incident occurred at around 2:20 pm this afternoon after a huge branch from the tree within the premises of the TCH gave way and one Damdam Ch Sangma (15 years) who was selling betel buts sustained injuries.

The injured person was immediately rushed to the Tura Civil Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The injured boy is from the village of Rongka Chiring.
