Assam: Two held for recruitment paper leak

GUWAHATI, May 22, 2018: On Monday, two persons were arrested by the Dhubri police for their alleged role in the question paper leak for recruitment test of the PNRD (panchayat and rural development) which was being held across the state on Sunday.
Dhubri Additional superintendent of police, G. Deka, confirmed that Rupali Saha and Sabira Khatun were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the in-charge of the exam centre.
Rupali is an inhabitant of Golakganj town and Sabira a resident of Dhubri town.
The centre-in-charge of Bidyapara Boys' Higher Secondary School in Dhubri town informed the police about activities of two examinees that stoked suspicion.
They were allegedly using their cell phones in the exam hall to take photos of the question papers that were circulated on WhatsApp during the examination.
Deka said a case had been registered with Dhubri police station and an investigation was under way.Numerous anomalies were reported from other exam centres across the state.
AASU on Monday slammed the government for the goof-up. "We demand a re-examination," said AASU president Dipanka Nath.
