Assam: Three children drowns in Dimow river

GUWAHATI, July 9, 2018: In an unfortunate incident that took place on Saturday, three children of a family lost their life due to drowning in Dimow river located under Mukhtiyar gram panchayat after a boat capsized.

A source said Prasad Morang's sons Bhupen (6) and Ranjan (4) and his brother's son Jharna (4) had taken out the boat on Saturday afternoon.

The family members went out in search when the boys did not return till the evening. After they spotted the boat in the river, they searched for the boys and recovered their bodies late in the night.

The family members along with the villagers took the three children to the model hospital in Silapathar, around 7km away, where doctors declared them dead.
