Assam: Six Ulfa (I) millitants surrender

GUWAHATI, June 21, 2018: A total of six ULFA cadres have surrendered before Assam police with arms and ammunition today.

According to the police, the surrendered cadres had expressed resentment over the activities of their leaders including kidnapping of indigenous workers of tea gardens and destroying the tea industry in Assam.

They had also been facing difficulty making an entry into Assam due to sustained presence of security forces along the border.

The names of the surrendered ULFA cadres include Pranab Gogoi, Apurba Moon, Satyajit Moon, Jishu Doley, Rituraj Moran and Abhijit Gohain.
