Assam: Robbers held with passenger belongings at railway station

GUWAHATI, July 12, 2018: Multiple number of arrest were made by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northern Frontier Railway of those involved in theft and robbery in trains.

On 25th June, acting on an information about mobile phone snatching from a passenger of 15636 DN in coach no S-8 berth no – 71, RPF immediately swung into action. Head constable Dipak Chandra Das along with constable Kamal Hussain of the 'Anti-Theft of Passenger Belongings (TOPB)' team of Guwahati arrested one minor Ajgar Ali (13), who hails from Bilashipara, Dhubri and recovered the handset.
The arrested juvenile was handed over to OC/GRP/Guwahati with the mobile handset for appropriate action.
On 26th June, at about 10.25 AM, Assistant Sub-Inspector, RPF, Ranjit Medhi along with staff of Kamakhya RPF post, arrested one Kamal Debnath (30) and recovered one bag containing important documents, clothing, journey tickets and identity card which were stolen from passenger Shahbaz Alam.
The arrested person and the recovered bag were handed over to OC/GRP/Guwahati for appropriate action.
Again on 5th July RPF staff of Kamakhya station apprehended one Nilamoni Deka (33) a resident of Purani Tangla, Udalguri and recovered a mobile handset snatched from one Pobitra Sarkar passenger of 25657 UP. The arrested person was later handed over to IC/GRP/Kamakhya for necessary action.
