Assam: “PM Modi chose to lie from ramparts of Red Fort”, says Congress

GUWAHATI | August 17, 2018:

President of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Ripun Bora has slammed PM Modi's statement during his speech on Independence day, Bora has accused PM Modi of making false claims in regard to the development in the Northeastern region under NDA.

During I-day speech on Wednesday, Modi stated: "there was a time when North East felt distant from Delhi but within last four years we have succeeded to get Delhi to the threshold of Northeast".

Another day and another pack of lies from PM Modi. Today he chose to lie from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

Bora said that PM Modi talks about development which is not practical on the ground. The Special Category State status under the NDA tenure which was withdrawn and the NEIIPP was discontinued, Central funds were also slashed, the paper mills were shut down and the functional autonomy of the North Eastern Council has been taken away.
