Assam: Man from Manipur held for attempting rape at Dimapur-Kamakhya BG Express

GUWAHATI | August 8, 2018:

In an incident, a young girl who was travelling with her brother was saved from a molester in a moving train.

According to the Railway police, the girl along with her brother were on-board the Dimapur-Kamakhya BG Express when the incident happened near Lumding. The accused taking advantage of the late hours and less passengers in the coupe attempted to rape the girl. When the girl raised an alarm, her brother and other co-passengers came to her rescue and the accused ran away.

The accused identified as Koraiba Wilson was later caught by the Railway Police Force at Guwahati.

The accused Wilson hails from Senapati district of Manipur and is currently in the custody of GRP.
