Assam: Man arrested for posting video in Jorhat

GUWAHATI, June 23, 2018: One Aditya Paniphukon, leader of Veer Lachit Sena was arrested by the Jorhat police on Friday, for allegedly posting a video on social media threatening Jorhat Bar Association (JBA) members.
Police registered a case at Jorhat Sadar police station under Sections 120 (B),121 and 506 IPC along with Section 67 of the IT Act after the JBA lodged a complaint against the party.
Investigating officer Diganta Bora confirmed the arrested. JBA president Rintu Goswami said the persons who claimed to be office bearers of the Sena, accused the lawyers of working against the indigenous people of the state.
