Assam | Jawan arrested for misconduct

GUWAHATI | September 8, 2018:

On Friday afternoon, a jawan of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was arrested for misbehaving with a woman.

According to the sources, constable Mohammed Wased Ali had been misbehaving with Momi Sonar, a resident of No. 3 Naoholia, an adjacent area, for the past fortnight whenever she visited Surakhshya Nagar, where the CISF camp is located, in Duliajan town of Dibrugarh district.

On Thursday evening, when she went to Surakhsya Nagar for marketing, he again misbehaved with her following which the woman informed her husband and family members. On Friday morning, the locals gheraoed the CISF camp and demanded Ali's arrest.

The police, on getting information, rushed to the spot and arrested Ali. The protesters then demanded that Ali is handed over to them.

The victim lodged an FIR in the afternoon on the basis of which Ali was arrested.
