Assam double murder: Compensation given to the victim’s family

GUWAHATI, July 19, 2018: On Wednesday, MLA Prashanta Phukan and Circle Officer of Dibrugarh West Revenue Circle, Tarali Das offered a draft amounting Rs. 5 Lakh to the family of Lalima Devi, a victim of the recent outrageous and brutal murder  that took place on Awadh Assam Express.

Paying a visit to the residence of the deceased, which is located in Nij Kadamani Path, the amount was made available out of the Dibrugarh District Disaster Management Fund and was offered to Devi's son Jitendra Kumar Singh.

Phukan, during his visit, assured that the State government would mete out strict punishment to the guilty.
