Assam | Cabinet sanctions fund for welfare & development in state

The State Cabinet on Sunday sanctioned various proposals which have been put up by different Departments in Sikkim.

A total amount of Rs 108.39 crores have been sanctioned for the development of the Tourism sector.
The fund has been sanctioned for Ropeway from Pelling, West Sikkim to Sanghacholing.
Already a Ropeway station is functional and the second one is being operated in Tsongmu, the highest and popular spot, in East Sikkim.
Rs. 58.54 crore has been sanctioned for augmentation of 104 single village water supply schemes and the establishment of one Water Testing Laboratory at Tadong, Gangtok.
The cabinet also gave confirmation of approval accorded for branding Dzongu, North Sikkim as "Lepcha Indigenous Habitat" for promotion, preservation and further enrichment of Lepcha indigenous culture for sustainable development.
An amount of Rs. 3881 lakh was sanctioned for construction of an Art Gallery in Gangtok, Rs. 8260.45 lakh for construction of State Guest House at Gangtok, and Rs. 3937.50 lakh for setting up of a world-class Library in Gyan Mandir, Gangtok.
