Assam AirAsia row: Charge-sheet filed against 19-yr-old woman for concealing birth

The 19-year-old taekwondo player who had delivered the foetus in AirAsia plane's lavatory is under police scanner, the case took a new turn when Delhi Police filed a charge-sheet against the 19-year old. Though the police is not arresting the woman.

On 25 July, a foetus wrapped in toilet paper was found inside the toilet of an AirAsia flight in New Delhi, as the Imphal-Guwahati-Delhi flight was about to land. Upon investigation, it was found that the foetus belonged to a woman taekwondo player. The woman had denied that the foetus belonged to her, but later upon police questioning she admitted to it. As per reports, she had boarded the flight from Guwahati.

The Delhi Police had initially registered a case under Section 318 of the IPC, "concealment of birth by secret disposal of dead body".
