Assam: 22-year-old girl rescued, one held for sex trafficking

GUWAHATI, July 11, 2018: One Rohila Mondol, 46-years-old was arrested by the Bharalumukh police on Tuesday for human trafficking.

According to the police, acting on the information which was provided by the family of the victim and other civilian sources, the police were able to rescue the victim.

The kidnapper and the victim were held near Bihar en-route to Rajasthan.

As per police, the accused hailing from Vijaynagar had allegedly lured the 22-yr-old girl from Alugodam area under Bharalumukh police station on the pretext of getting her a job in Rajasthan and later intending to sell her off.
