Arunachalee doctor makes state proud by achieving DM in Cardiology from NEIGRIHMS

A doctor from Arunachal Pradesh, Dr Tony Ete made his state proud by achieving the Doctor of Medicine (DM Cardiology from NEIGRIHMS) Shillong, becoming the second Arunachalee to achieve this feat after Dr Rinchin Dorjee Megeji and the first from Tani Clan and Galo community.
Dr Tony is the son of Eto Ete, DDSE, Aalo and Libi Loya Ete of Kugi village in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
He got his MD in General Medicine from IPGMER Kolkata and served as a senior Resident of MD General Medicine Department in North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).
Dr Tony is also the awardee of Dera Natung Award for Academic Excellence 2003 and has, in his credit, more than 60 publications in national and international journals and have several chapters in medical books.
"Serving the people has always been my priority; I will continue to give my best to serve the society and my state and I do hope our state produce more dedicated and determined doctors," said Dr Tony.
Expressing gratitude to his family for the support, Dr Tony said that without his family's support, he wouldn't have been successful in his journey to serve the people.
"I have always believed in serving mankind and I am blessed to work under Dr Animesh Mishra, the Head of the Cardio Department in NEIGRIHMS and also having Dr Manish Kapoor, Dr Amit Malviya as my guides," he added.
