Three arrested for racial assault on youth from Mizoram in Bengaluru

AIZAWL: The Banaswadi police have arrested three persons, including a 54-year-old manager of a private bank, on the charge of assaulting a youth from Mizoram over parking row on December 26.

The accused, who are family members, have been identified as Clifford Wilson (56), a retired security officer, his son Carlton Wilson, and Lynn Wilson (54), assistant manager with a private bank. The trio have been booked under assault and other sections of the IPC and remanded in judicial custody.

According to the police, the accused had a verbal dual with the victim who stayed in their neighbourhood over parking his motorcycle outside their house situated in Akkayamma Layout.

The trio slapped and beat up the youth and threatened him, said Hemanth Nimbalkar , Additional Commissioner of Police (East).

A friend of the victim, who had recorded the attack on his mobile phone, forwarded the same to Reena Ralta, NE Association Coordinator, who in turn approached the police. The three were arrested based on a complaint filed by her.
