The 17 year old Abhishek Gogoi from Guwahati, Assam is a very talented sportsman with interests in multiple sports, especially in Cycling in which he currently holds the National Record of 19 minutes and 21 seconds, which is the 12th fastest timing in World for the 10 km Individual Time Trial in the Special Olympics category.
This record was set in the ‘Cycling NCC cum National Championship’ 2018 (held from 4th to 9th January 2018) at Ranchi, Jharkhand where Abhishek got the First position in both 5 kms Time Trial and 10 kms Time Trial events. With this record he has qualified to participate in Summer Special Olympics to be held in March 2019 in Abu Dhabi.
Born with Cerebral Palsy Abhishek lost his Dad to cancer a few years ago. Abhishek currently doesn’t own a bike. He practices on a borrowed bike and has also competed only on borrowed bikes. Now that he has been invited for a training camp to be held in Rajasthan from 19th June 2018 for the Special Olympics 2019 qualifiers, he needs to have his own cycle. His mother who is the sole bread earner for the family works very hard to provide for him and his young sister, doesn’t have the resources to fund his dream.

Competing at an International level requires high end equipments.

You can help him convert his dreams into reality by being part of this Campaign here: https://www.ketto.org/fundraiser/abhishekgogoi
