What is LDP?

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is a political organisation that was formed in Guwahati, Assam, on 29 March 2015. It was formed by a citizen’s group—that consisted of professionals, existing and aspiring politicians, intellectuals, and social activists—with the aim of redefining the political narrative, first in Assam, and then gradually in the rest of India.

The party was founded by former BJP leader Prodyut Bora. Bora, who quitted BJP on February, launched his own party called the Liberal Democratic Party in Assam and is ready with its “Ideology” document to march into the 2016 election.

40-year-old Prodyut Bora the founder of LDP was also the founder of IT Cell in BJP. He was a National Executive Committee member of the Bharatiya Janata Party till 2015 February. He attended the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad also the London School of Economics (LSE) as a Chevening Gurukul Scholar. He was also selected by the Yale University as a Yale World Fellow.

The LDP model
