Tripura youth killed in Bangladesh on suspicion of being drug peddler

A youth from Boxanagar under Sonamura subdivision was mysteriously killed by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Chittagong in Bangladesh.

Sources said that the deceased youth was identified as Salim Miah (27) of Boxanagar entered into Bangladesh territory with valid VISA through Akhaura integrated check post, Agartala on July 23 last.


But he was disconnected from his family members after two days who then started looking for him by utilizing all their sources and with the help of relatives. Later, they were informed that on the night of July 25, three persons along with Salim were gunned down by RAB at Khulshi Rail gate area of Chittagong suspecting him to be drug smugglers.

Family members of deceased Salim alleged he was never associated with any kind of drug smuggling and went to Bangladesh to visit his relatives house. They also expressed their suspicion over his Chittagong visit and alleged that there must be conspiracy for killing of Salim.
