Tripura: Two persons sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for raping minors in 2015 and 2016

Two rape accused have been convicted for the rape of minors in two separate cases.

A private tutor has been sentenced to ten years of imprisonment after being convicted of raping a minor girl.

On Friday a private tutor by the name of Pradip Saha (50) was sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment in the case of rape of a minor girl by the District and Session judge of South Tripura district. He has been further fined with ₹ 5000 or in anticipation have to suffer another six months jail.

The court pronounced the judgement under section 376 of IPC. Pradip Saha was accused of raping a seven year old minor girl on September 10 th, 2015 in the absence of her parents.

In another judgement on January 29 last, another rape accused Ripu Tripura was also sentenced to three years of rigorous imprisonment by the District and session court judge (South Tripura). Ripu Tripura was accused for raping an 11-ye-old minor girl on April 27, 2016 at Kailash Nagar under Belonia police station.
