Tripura: IPFT declines Congress-INPT alliance proposal, to contest both Lok Sabha seats

A day after Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT) approached the Indigenous
People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) to ally with them in order to defeat BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, IPFT president and state revenue minister N C Debbarma said that IPFT will not support Congress for the Lok Sabha elections and will contest alone.


Talking to media persons, NC Debbarma informed that Congress president Pradyot Kishore Deb Burman and INPT chief Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl met with me at my resident yesterday late evening and asked to support them by extending our hand and withdrawing our candidates from both the Lok Sabha seats.

He also stated that today morning a high level meeting of all the IPFT leaders was held regarding the matter wherein it was decided that IPFT will not to accept the proposal.

The IPFT will be contesting in both the Lok Sabha seats of the state.
