Tripura govt identifies members of 14 families who attended Jimaat in Delhi


AGARTALA | APRIL 01, 2020:

Tripura's Health Department on Tuesday said it has found that there are members of fourteen families, who were linked to the religious congreggation held in Delhi's Nizamuddin earlier this month.

It may be mentioned that twenty-four people from across the country, who took part in a religious congregation in Nizamuddin West have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.


Official sources informed that all the members from the fourteen family in Tripura have been sent for Institutional Quarantine.

Tripura's Health Department have identified all the members of the fourteen families and have informed that as per the protocol they will be sent to Institutional quarantine and further medical examination will be done.


As per the information, the members of 14 families, who attended the Congregation hail from West Tripura, North Tripura-1, Gomati Tripura-1 and from Unakoti-1.

Over 2,000 people, including delegates from Indonesia and Malaysia, had attended the congregation organised by Tablighi Jamaat, a global Islamic missionary movement set up in 1926.
