Tripura | BJP unhappy with role of CEO in state

AGARTALA | May 14, 2019 (UNI):

The BJP Tripura state committee has expressed displeasure over the role of Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sriram Taranikanti.

The party alleged that due to inadequate arrangement some untoward incidents took place during the re-poll in 168 booths of West Tripura parliamentary constituency.

There have been some incidents where BJP workers, supporters and polling agent were beaten up by Central Paramilitary Force (CPMF) without any provocation during re-poll, as the state election authority could not make the proper briefing, alleged party spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee.

He stated, "As the voting advanced we started getting reports of some incidents which are not desirable because of mobilization of security forces along with sector police officers and sector magistrates."
