Satyadeo Poddar appointed as new Vice Chancellor of MBB university

AGARTALA | December 8, 2019:

Acting Vice Chancellor of Tripura Central University (TCU), controller of examination and head department of history, Dr Satyadeo Poddar, has been appointed as new Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) university on Saturday.

Poddar, had received the letter of appointment from the state government and will join his post on or before December 13 next.

Speaking to media he said that he would do his best to upgrade the standard and status of university education in Tripura and would try hard to secure higher ranking from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Already the MBB university has secured a reasonably high ranking in the NAAC grading.

Poddar has been in the university teaching profession over the past thirty years and has worked as director of college development council and as dean in departments of Art and Commerce.

He has also worked as visiting professor in China on behalf of the government of India as part of the Indo-China cultural development and exchange initiative.

Many students have conducted research under his guidance and he has to his credit as many as thirty publications at the national and international level.
