Destination Tripura-Investment Summit, 2021’ ends; 50 investors sign MoU

The two-day long “Destination Tripura-Investment Summit, 2021” concluded on December 10, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 2500 between the Tripura government and 50 investors.

Speaking with The Northeast Today (TNT), the secretary of Industry and Commerce, PK Goyal stated that representatives of around 80 companies attended the event and many more companies have shown their interest in the region.

Highlighting the abundance of natural resources in Tripura, Goyal said that many companies also signed MoUs for bamboo, agarwood, rubber plantation, IT, education, handicraft and tourism.

He further informed that companies such as Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA), Cycle incense sticks, ITC, Dabur have also signed MOUs with the Tripura government, adding that some companies have also come to open colleges and universities in the state.

Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb echoed the same thought as he took to Twitter to thank all the investors for their “trust in the state” by signing the MOUs. He emphasised that the government of Tripura will follow up with them and provide all the support necessary to set up factories in the state.
