17 people who met Tripura’s covid 19 patient test negative for second time

AGARTALA | APRIL 09, 2020:

Seventeen people, who were quarantined after coming in contact with the lone COVID-19 patient in Tripura have tested negative for coronavirus on Tuesday, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said.

He said that a total of 17 people who were in close contact with the COVID-19 patient of Tripura were tested negative for the second time. All of them are still under surveillance in quarantine.

The Minister tweeted;

The Minister has appealed the people to co-operate with government officials and not to panic.

A 35-year-old woman was tested positive for covid-19 on Monday, making it the first case in Tripura. The woman hails from Udaipur town and is currently undergoing treatment at the GB Pant Hospital in Agartala.

She was admitted to a private hospital in Agartala a few days back with cough, fever and breathing problem and later she was shifted to the government facility.

Meanwhile, the doctors and nurses who had attended to her earlier and an ambulance driver who brought her to a hospital have also been quarantined.

It may be mentioned that last week, two people from Tripura were tested positive for the virus while in Rajasthan; they are currently being treated in Rajasthan
