Sikkim reports 278 fresh COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

GANGTOK:

Sikkim reported 278 new COVID-19 positive cases, with five fatalities on Tuesday, taking the state's total cumulative tally to 13,511 and the total death count to 237.

According to the bulletin issued by the Health Department, 178 cases were reported from East Sikkim district, 49 from West Sikkim, 44 from South Sikkim and 7 from North Sikkim district.

The state now has a total of 3,370 active COVID-19 cases, with a total of 9,692 recoveries to date, the bulletin said.

A total of 1,11,529 samples of COVID-19 have been tested in the state so far, of which 940 were tested in the last 24 hours.
