5.4 magnitude earthquake rocks Manipur & parts of Northeast India
IMPHAL, Aug 3, 2017: A 5,4 magnitude earthquake rocked Manipur and parts of Northeast India last night at around 11.48 pm.
IMD sources informed that an earthquake of Magnitude:5.4 occurred on August 2 Occurred at 11.48 pm with Lat:24.4 N & Long: 93.4 E. The epicentre of the quake was traced at Churachandpur, Manipur with a depth of 65 Km.
The tremor was also felt in other parts of the region. It may be mentioned that Meghalaya along with the entire region of Northeast India is categorised as a region that lies upon a high seismic activity range.
