Nagaland: Staff Selection Board to be set up within one month, Govt assures NSF

KOHIMA | JUNE 15, 2020:

The Naga Students Federation (NSF) today announced that the State Government has assured setting up of Staff Selection Board (SSB) within one month.

Apprising the media, the Federation informed that they had a meeting with the Chief Minister and other legislators on Monday and deliberated on various issues.

NSF President, Ninoto Awomi said, "The long-pending issue and the fight of NSF in setting up a Staff Selection Board (SSB) in the State have finally been achieved and the Chief Minister today assured us that it has been decided in Principal to set up the SSB within one month."

The Federation urged the State Government to resolve the issue pertaining to the National Health Mission, and at the same time, appealed to the NHM employees to revoke their decision and resume work.

"They need to sit with the government to discuss this matter and to come to an amicable understanding. The Federation understands the grievances of the NHM employees but this is a very crucial time for everyone and Nagas should not be at the receiving end" the President stated.

In view of the current situation involving migrant workers leaving the state, NSF advised the returnees to grab this opportunity and fill those posts/jobs previously held by the migrant workers. "We appeal to all the unemployed youth of Nagaland, who have returned to the state, to seize and take advantage of the opportunity," added NSF
