Nagaland | Centre approves Rs.65.26 crores for state flood relief
KOHIMA, September 20, 2018: The Centre has approved Rs. 65.25 crore from the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) towards relief necessitated by natural calamities of severe nature in Nagaland.
According to Finance commission division under Finance ministry, Rs. 65.69 crore was approved by the high level committee of which the balance of Rs. 43 crore was adjusted as the amount was already made available in the SDRF account of the state for instant disaster/calamity as on April 1, 2017.
In this regard, the remaining amount to be released was Rs. 65.26 crore. The amount is being released based on recommendations of the Home ministry OM dated July 7, 2018.
It may be recalled the High-Level Committee (HLC) meeting chaired by Union Home minister Rajnath Singh, held in June 2018 approved Rs. 65.69 crore for Nagaland (affected by floods/landslides during 2017-18).
