Lockdown 4.0: Mizoram eases guidelines for inter-state public transport, shops

As per the new rules, two-wheeler taxis dropping a passenger must first disinfect the seat before taking another passenger; taxi drivers and passengers have to always wear masks. The drivers have to provide hand sanitizer to the passengers. Also, all passengers, drivers and conductors in public buses will have to put on masks and the drivers must disinfect the buses.

Mizoram is presently free from COVID19 cases. However, the state is maintaining the lockdown guidelines strictly, amid relaxations given to some services.

As per the new guideline the inter-state transport has remained closed, except for movement for goods. International border points also remained closed.

Business establishments have been allowed to run in between morning 6 to 5 pm in staggered manner in Aizawl. There are no restrictions for such categories in other towns and villages.

The state government has also issued new guidelines for stranded people willing to return to the state. It said that anyone returning to the state must take prior consent of the government. A returnee, after arrival, shall have to undergo medical screening followed by mandatory 14 days of institutional quarantine.
