Five ALP cadres held; arms & ammo recovered in Mizoram

AIZAWL:

Security Forces on Saturday apprehended five Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) cadres and recovered weapons from their possession at Kakichhua area in Mizoram. 

Official sources informed that the recovery was made during a joint operation carried out by Mizoram Police and the Lunglei Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East). 

Security forces recovered one 9MM pistol with one magazine, one 9MM revolver, four grenades and 55 rounds of 9MM ammunition. 

"The operation was based on confirmed intelligence inputs about the warlike stores," Assam Rifles officials said. 

The apprehended persons and weapons have been handed over to the Lawngtlai Police Station.
