MSSASA threatens to launch a ‘Non- Cooperation Movement’ against the state government

SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) president, Aristotle C. Rymbai, has threatened to launch a ‘Non-Cooperation Movement’ if the state government fails to release the pending salaries of the teachers.
With Christmas around the corner, Rymbai, in a press statement, has requested the government to take appropriate action regarding the release of the remaining three months’ salary from August to October, 2021, on or before December 20, 2021. 
“Once again, we are reaching out to the government in writing through the Secretary of Education. Failure to meet our demand will compel us (SSA teachers) to launch a ‘Non-Cooperation Movement’ for any assigned activities, not linked to education from December 21, 2021, onwards, till they pay the remaining salary,” he stated.
Earlier, on November 16, a delegation of the Association met Sir Ambrose Ch. Marak, the Secretary of Education, to discuss and resolve the issue at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the Association plans to launch a letter campaign to air their grievances, addressed to the chief minister, Conrad Sangma, and Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui, from December 22, 2021 to January 14, 2022. 
This will be followed by democratic, peaceful protest–a Black Flag Sit-in Demonstration and a candlelight vigil on January 21, 2022.
