Meghalaya’s Batsrang A Sangma bags 2nd position in IIT-G’s half marathon


SHILLONG | Aug 25, 2019:

A runner from Meghalaya, Batsrang A Sangma bagged the 2nd position in the 11th edition of the Guwahati Half Marathon organised by the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT-G) today.

The marathon with the theme "Run for Clean and Safe Drinking Water" was part of the 21st edition of Techniche – grand annual event of the IIT-G.

Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma on Sunday took to Twitter to congratulate the young runner for his achievement.

It started from the Bhogeswari Phukanani Indoor Stadium in Guwahati here today.

The IIT-G is all set for the celebration of the 21st edition of the annual techno-management festival Techniche, from August 29 to September 1.

"Being one of the largest technical festivals in India, it gives North East an eminence on a global standard, and, it provides a platform for many students to prove themselves on a nationwide level," Assistant Registrar of Public relations IIT-G, Labanu K. Konwar said.
