North Garo Hills (NGH) police on December 24 recovered a huge stock of Indian-made foreign liquor(IMFL) that was meant to be sold during the two dry days on December 24 and 25.

The raids were conducted after information that some miscreants had stocked liquors for selling in the black market.

However, the efforts of the miscreants was stopped by a police team that conducted vice raids and recovered 13 cartons of IMFL, including few crates of beer.

These have been duly seized and necessary actions are being taken up against the miscreants, as was reported by police sources.

“These preventive actions are being taken to minimise the accidents because of drinking and driving, and committing other crimes under the influence of alcohol during the time of dry days,” said an official statement by the NGH police.
