SHILLONG |  JULY 14, 2020:

Meghalaya Government today decided not to further extend the lockdown in the city.

The decision of the government was taken on Tuesday, the second day of a two-day total lockdown, which will end tomorrow at 5 am.

While talking to the reporters here after the review meeting, Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong informed that Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma had clearly mentioned that the two days lockdown was imposed to trace the contacts of the Green Wood Resort wedding case.

According to him, they have traced out a total number of 198 people who are connected with the Greenwood Resort wedding ceremony case. "Therefore, we decided not to extend the lockdown since the contact tracing of the Greenwood Resort is completed," Mr. Tynsong said.
