Shillong, Mar 11:

The blood samples of the patient admitted at the North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), which was recently sent to Kolkata for testing of Corona Virus, has been found to be negative.

"There is no case of Corona Virus as the blood samples report is negative," Health and Family Welfare Minister, Alexander Laloo Hek told reporters here today.

While urging the people to follow the advisories on the COVID-19, he said that there is no need to panic as the State Government has taken all necessary measures to ensure the people are protected.

Earlier, officials from NEIGRIHMS had informed that a case of fever and cough has been admitted in the isolation ward in the institute and the patient is stable adding that since he has a travel history to Delhi, "We are taking all precautionary measures; samples have been taken and sent to Kolkata."
