Meghalaya: 59-year-old woman dies of COVID-19; death toll at 14

Meghalaya, on Thursday evening, reported another COVID-19 fatality following the death of a 59-year-old woman from Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi.

Confirming this, the Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman Warr, said that a 59-year-old-woman from Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi, who was suffering from co-morbidities died of COVID-19 at NEIGRIHMS on Thursday evening.

According to Dr Warr, the woman was undergoing treatment at Bethany Hospital after she tested positive for COVID-19 and was later referred to NEIGRIHMS.

"I am waiting for the detailed report from NEIGRIHMS on the death of this woman," Warr said.

The total number of fatalities in the state now stands at 14.
