Meet Naisha Tariang, Meghalaya’s 1st female tattoo artist

Avenues Shillong has begun a series called #AvenuesIcon– a series of episodes that features people from Northeast India who are inspiring others with their work.

And in this episode, Avenues in association with TNT- The Northeast Today would like you to meet our #AvenuesTrailblazer for the week, Naisha Richmond Tariang.

Naisha is Meghalaya's first Female Tattoo Artist whose incredible journey started as a young tattooist in 2016 at Sacred Grove's Tattoo Studio, Shillong, where she trained under Phiban Nongkynrih.

She moved on to work at the Calcutta Ink Studio and eventually came home to open her own tattoo studio in 2018 called 'Just A Little Something To Do With Art' based out of her own home at Umsohsun.

A passionate young artist, Naisha told us that 'Art has no restriction and can never be wrong' and like her art, Naisha continues to sketch her passion, helping people to bring their imagination and stories to life with her tattoos.
