Justice Biswanath Somadder takes oath as new Chief Justice of Meghalaya HC


SHILLONG | April 27, 2020:

Justice Biswanath Somadder on Monday was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.

Governor Tathagata Roy administered the oath to the newly appointed Chief Justice Biswanath Somadder of Meghalaya High Court at Raj Bhavan.

The swearing ceremony was conducted by following strict guidelines under social distancing norms in view of the global outbreak of the COVID-19.

Local media had reported that Justice Sommader travelled from Kolkata to Shillong by road and arrived in the capital city on Sunday night.
