SHILLONG:

Newly elected United Democratic Party (UDP) legislator from Mawphlang, Eugeneson Lyngdoh on November 2 said that his top priority would be to serve the people of the constituency to the best of his abilities.

Lyngdoh also assured that he would complete all the pending works of his father, (L) SK Sunn. Attributing his victory to the love people have for his father’s work, Lyngdoh said, “People had come to my house and encouraged me to follow up with the work which my father had left behind. I thank the people for giving me this opportunity to complete his pending tasks.”

Stating that one and half years, however, is a very short time to fulfill all the aspirations of people, the football star-turned-politician said that his priority would be to complete the road projects in the constituency before his term ends in 2023.

Lyngdoh is also elated that his favourite sport, football, has grown in the state over the years. “I am sure its popularity will keep growing. It is a sport that we all love here in Meghalaya and every kid dream of playing the sport and making a career out of it,” he said.
