MANIPUR: 3 militants including woman belonging to different outfits arrested

Three militants including a woman belonging to different banned outfits have been arrested by security forces in Manipur, police said on Wednesday.

One self-styled 'Colonel' of banned outfit United National Liberation Front (UNLF) was arrested by Manipur police commando on Wednesday while conducting search operation at Heirok Bazar in Thoubal district, said Superintendent of Police (SP) of Thoubal, S Ibomcha Singh.

A release issued by PRO of Manipur Police today one active cadre of proscribed militant outfit People Liberation Army (PLA) was arrested by a combined team of Manipur police commando and 5 JAK Rifles in Imphal West district on July 29.

Another active woman worker of outlawed militant outfit People Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), Progressive group was arrested by a combined team of Manipur police commando and Assam Rifles from Top Khongnangkhong Parking area in Imphal East district on July 29, said the press release.
