Night curfew to be reinforced in Assam-Nagaland border from May 22

GUWAHATI | May 06, 2019:

The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM in the 5 kilometres belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland for a period of 60 days beginning 22nd of this month.

ADM, Sivasagar, in an order, said that night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements and unlawful activities in Assam/Nagaland areas bordering Sivasagar district.

The order also prohibits movement of any person, group of persons or vehicular traffics during the period of night curfew. However, Magistrate, Security personnel of army, CRPF, Police and civil officials deployed on duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
