Night Curfew reinforced in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland


GUWAHATI | Aug 22, 2019:

Night curfew has been reinforced in the 5 kilometre belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland state starting from today from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM for a period of 60 days.

In an order, Additional District Magistrate Sivasagar, Assam said the night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements, extremist, unlawful activities coming across the Assam-Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district.

The Additional District Magistrate Sivasagar said movement of any person, group of persons, any vehicular traffics are prohibited during the period of night curfew.

However, Magistrate, Security personnel of army, CRPF, Police and civil officials deployed on duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
