Manhunting in times of COVID-19 for Meghalaya-Assam police

The mental effects of the coronavirus are witnessed far and wide in the country and in an interesting incident, the Ri-Bhoi police today assisted the Assam police to trace the person identified as Champion Rai who fled away from one of the corona care centres in Assam.
The team of Ri-Bhoi police led by DSP (Traffic), O. Massar along with in-charge of Byrnihat outpost, A. Sangma had provided the lead to Assam police about the location of this person.
When contacted, Massar said that the Assam police had sought the help of the Ri-Bhoi police by informing that this person had fled away from the corona care centre since Wednesday.
"For the past two days, the whole team had worked tirelessly to help in tracing this person. We got a breakthrough about this person. Along with the Assam police, we finally trace him at a place near the cement plant in Jorabat, Assam," the DSP (Traffic) said.
He further informed that the person who escaped was in Assam only since the day he fled from the corona care centre.
